Over the past year, more than 2,300 people shared their ideas for how to improve school choice and student assignment. Emerging themes were: Quality schools closer to home. And when possible, easier & less frequent school transitions.
On February 25, the External Advisory Committee voted to approve the Home-Based/A model and present it to the Superintendent. The Superintendent brought it before the Boston School Committee for consideration on February 27. This model includes the English Language Learner overlay and Students With Disabilities overlay as well as middle-school pathways.
